Privacy Policy
Effective date: 16 October 2026.
Controller and contact. The De Beauvoir Deli Co LTD (registered as The De Beauvoir Deli Co. Limited), trading as Fine Food Retail Jobs, is responsible for personal data used to operate this board. Our registered office is 98 Southgate Road, London, N1 3JD; company number 06911841. Contact privacy@finefoodretailjobs.com about your information. Employers are separately responsible for the recruitment decisions and copies of application information they receive.
A short explanation for candidates, including those aged 16–17. We use your details to run your account and deal with the applications you choose to send. An application sent through the board goes to the employer for that job. That employer decides who to hire and controls the copy it receives. Share only what is needed for the job; ask us if you are unsure. Applying does not sign you up to marketing. You can ask us to explain, correct or consider deleting your information by emailing privacy@finefoodretailjobs.com. Employers cannot browse a candidate directory on this board. This does not stop an employer receiving an application you choose to send. The same privacy settings apply to all eligible candidates, including those aged 16–17. Please read the detail below, including when information needs to be kept.
Information we collect. We collect account and contact information; employer profile and vacancy details; candidate profile information you choose to supply; CVs, application answers and supporting messages submitted through the board; support correspondence; order and payment-status references; and technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, device/browser details and access events. Required form fields are identified when you use the service. Without required information we may be unable to create an account, process a request or transmit an application. Do not send full card details to us: payment entry is handled through the payment service.
Sources. Most information comes from you. We also receive relevant information from the employer or applicant involved in an application or order, our platform and payment providers, and people who contact us about a support or safety issue. This notice does not authorise new marketing uses of public contact details.
| Purpose | Information and lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Provide accounts, process your requested application and supply purchased advertising | Account, vacancy/application and order data; performance of our contract with you or steps requested before contracting, where applicable. |
| Manage a company’s relationship with us through its staff | Business contact and order information; our legitimate interest in administering business services, where the contact is not personally party to the contract. |
| Security, moderation, support and dispute handling | Relevant records and technical logs; legitimate interests in a safe, reliable service and resolving claims, balanced against your rights; legal obligation where applicable. |
| Accounting and legally required records | Necessary transaction and business information; compliance with applicable legal obligations. |
| Optional job alerts and marketing | Email and selected preferences; consent for optional alerts or marketing where offered and opted into. You can withdraw consent at any time. Creating an account or applying for a job does not by itself subscribe you to marketing. |
Sharing. Internal applications are made available to the employer for the vacancy you selected. Relevant authorised staff and service providers can access data as needed to operate, secure and support the board. Job Boardly provides the platform and processes board-user data on our behalf. Stripe handles payments; its applicable privacy terms explain its payment, compliance and fraud-prevention processing. Public employer profiles and vacancy details can be visible to visitors and search engines after approval. The employer candidate directory is hidden on this board, and automatic approval of new candidate profiles is off. These controls apply to candidates of all eligible ages. Applications still share the information you submit with the employer for the selected vacancy. We do not include candidate applications in social promotion. If an employer uses data for its own recruitment records, contact that employer as well about its copy.
Social services and external sites. If separately agreed employer promotion is delivered, it uses public vacancy information and authorised business branding, with LinkedIn, Instagram or Buffer only where relevant to that agreed service. These providers process activity on their services under their own notices. No social allowance is currently promised by this notice. Clicking an external application or social link takes you to another provider; our notice does not replace theirs. Candidate CVs, application records and contact lists are not supplied for employer social promotion.
International processing. Job Boardly is operated by Glacier Systems Pty Ltd in Australia. Its published sub-processor list includes processing in the United States and Germany. Its DPA describes UK transfer safeguards using the UK IDTA or UK Addendum, as applicable. Contact privacy@finefoodretailjobs.com for information about the safeguards relevant to your data and how to obtain a copy. Your information may be processed outside the UK under these arrangements.
Retention. Job Boardly’s published default flags end-user accounts after 12 months without activity and sends a warning. If the account holder does not log in within 30 days of that notification, the account and associated personal data are permanently deleted. We have not confirmed an exception to that default for this board. Do not rely on an inactive account as a permanent store; keep your own copies of information you need. We assess whether account and associated information is still needed, taking account of the service requested, outstanding posting credits or orders, legal obligations, security and any unresolved complaint or claim. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised; any information kept is limited to what is necessary for the remaining purpose. We do not retain all account data indefinitely merely because an account exists. Account closure and privacy requests can prompt an earlier review. Necessary accounting, dispute and opt-out records may need to be kept separately. Application records are kept only as needed to transmit and administer the application and address relevant support, security or legal issues. Employers retain their own copies under their own notices. Financial records are kept for applicable accounting and tax obligations; support and dispute records for the period proportionately needed to address the matter and relevant claims; and minimal marketing-suppression records to respect an objection. Retention includes a review of the purpose and necessity of the relevant record, rather than indefinite storage of the whole account. Contact us to ask about your information. Technical copies, including backups, may remain until the applicable provider deletion cycle; they must not be used as an excuse for unnecessary ordinary use.
Your choices and rights. Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Use the unsubscribe route in an optional marketing email or contact privacy@finefoodretailjobs.com. Necessary account, security and requested-service messages are separate from marketing.
We may take proportionate steps to verify a request. We respond within the applicable legal time limit and explain any permitted extension or refusal. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, whether or not you first contact us.
Special information, children and decisions. Candidate registration is available from age 16. Employer account holders and advertising purchasers must be at least 18. Candidates aged 16–17 have the same data-protection rights and can contact us directly at privacy@finefoodretailjobs.com; a parent or guardian does not automatically receive their information or control their rights. We consider a young person’s circumstances and any representative’s authority when handling a request. If you are under 16, do not register or submit an application through the board; contact us if information about someone under 16 has been supplied so we can assess the appropriate action. We do not ask for health, ethnicity, religion, sexual-orientation or criminal-record details in ordinary applications. Do not include identity documents, bank details, full date of birth or unnecessary sensitive information in a CV. If sensitive information is received, we assess the lawful basis and any additional condition needed and restrict its handling; sending it is not blanket consent. We do not make hiring decisions or use solely automated processing to decide who obtains employment through this board. Employers must explain their own recruitment processes.
Cookies and changes. Our Cookie Policy describes device storage and controls. We update this notice when our processing changes and identify material changes where appropriate.
